A Welcome from Pastor Jay Yarbrough Senior Pastor, First Baptist Church of Bellevue

Welcome to the front lines.

I’m Pastor Jay Yarbrough — a Marine by training, U.S. Army Chaplain by calling, and a retired Sheriff’s Captain by experience. I’ve spent my life in the middle of the fight — in war zones, courtrooms, jail cells, hospital rooms, and church altars. And here’s what I know: this world is hurting, the enemy is active, and the only answer is Jesus Christ.

At First Baptist Church of Bellevue, we’re not here to play church — we’re here to equip soldiers for the Kingdom. This is a place for the weary and the willing, the broken and the bold. Whether you’re just stepping into faith or have followed Jesus for decades, there’s a place here for you to grow, serve, and stand firm.

We preach the truth without compromise, worship like warriors, and serve our community with grit and grace. Our ministries — like Celebrate Recovery, The Oak Center, and everything we do — are real-time rescue operations, designed to reach the lost, lift the broken, and launch people into purpose.

We’re not afraid of the hard places. We’ve been there. We go where the Gospel is needed and we don’t back down from the battle — because we know who wins.

So if you’re ready for more than surface-level church — if you’re ready to link arms with a family of believers who are on mission, on fire, and unashamed of the Gospel — welcome home.

The battle is real. But so is our Savior. Let’s go.

In Christ,
Pastor Jay Yarbrough
Senior Pastor
First Baptist Church of Bellevue
